Bridget Kay My name is Bridget Kay and I am an artist based out of Omaha, Ne. Art has always been an important aspect of my life since I was a little girl. My mother and grandmother were both painters, and my father is a musician and graphic artist. I was encouraged from a very young age to create, and for that support I am forever grateful.

I focused mainly on illustration up until the age of 12 when I started teaching myself how to paint. Upon entering high school I immersed myself in creating art. The Art instructors at Central High School were so wonderful and they pushed me to become the artist I am today. In my junior year of high school I joined the Kent Bellows program. The following summer I was accepted to the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation scholarship program. I stayed at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs for two weeks partaking in a wonderful intensive art program with a group of very gifted artists from all around the United States. For eight hours every day we painted and drew. Still lifes, portraits, landscapes... you name it. My time there inspired exponential growth as a budding artist and young woman. After high school I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I studied art for two years. Over the past five years I have experimented with a variety of media and methods. I have done acrylic, watercolor, gouache, multimedia illustration, face painting, and even jewelry making. Most recently, within the last year, I have experimented with collage on canvas. I enjoy working with vintage/retro imagery that I complement with futuristic ones, and then embellish with all kinds of glitter. I also do live painting at (musical) shows from time to time. I will always make art, and I will always seek new avenues to creativity.
