Carl Dumicich
Carl has been an artist for over 40 years and works as a producer, consultant, set designer, carpenter, as a scenic artist and technical director. He attended SUNY Suffolk County CC receiving an AAS and CUNY Brooklyn College receiving a BFA in Theatre Production in 2002 and an MFA in Set Design in 2004. He has designed sets for Brooklyn College, New York City Technical College, Midland University, Iowa Western CC, the Omaha Theatre for Young People at the Rose, the Jewish Community Center in in Omaha, the John Beasley Theatre, Multiple Outlet Productions and various other theatres. He also worked as a consultant on the films "The Crazies". He teaches theatre at Western Iowa Tech CC and prior to that served as an Associate Professor and Program Chair for the Theatre Program at Iowa Western CC. He was the Technical Director at the nation’s largest children’s theatre, the Omaha Theatre for Young People at the Rose and had served as the resident designer for the Brooklyn College Opera at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts from 2002-2004. He worked for, and was greatly influenced by, Obie award winner Professor John C. Scheffler, on various productions and theatrical designs. Currently he works with Yeeshai Gross, an Emmy and Tony award winning producer on various projects in and around NYC and has been doing so since 2003. He enjoys working in both 2-D and 3-D formats using acrylic, oil, latex and watercolor paints, ink, pen and pencil, charcoal and various sculpting compounds.
